Maui to Big Island Helicopter Tour
This tour will begin by flying over the quaint town of Hana and the beautiful Hamoa Beach. Jagged sea cliffs surround the bay and the beach is lush with vegetation. It is easily one of Hawaii's favorite beaches. Also in the area around Hana, you will see hundreds of waterfalls gushing down into rainforest streams below. You will fly over Oheo Gulch, where a series of waterfalls flow into seven pools as the water meanders through the island on the way to the sea.
From Maui, you will fly over the Alenuihaha Channel to the Big Island. On the water, this is the world's most dangerous channel. You will enjoy the scenery, however, from the comfort of our spacious Eco-Star helicopter. Once we are over the Big Island, we will give you a thorough tour of the Kohala region. This area was created by the now extinct Kohala volcano, one of five volcanoes that have made up the Big Island. Kohala has forty miles of coastline, some of it beautiful white sand beaches and other parts black lava fields. Lush valleys surround the magnificent Kohala Mountain, which is covered in green vegetation and waterfalls cascading to the valley below.
You will end the trip back in Maui as we fly over the Haleakala Crater. Haleakala was also once an active volcano. It last erupted more than two hundred years ago. The crater itself is seven miles across, two miles wide, and two thousand six hundred feet deep. The Haleakala area features the gray, dry landscape of volcanic rock and the mountainsides of rainforests. It is a beautiful way to end the day's tour.
