Maui Whale Watching
Every winter, hundreds of whales migrate from the colder Arctic
waters to spend the winter months in the warmer waters of Hawaii.
People from around the world flock to Hawaii to catch sight of these
majestic creatures in a popular form of eco-tourism called whale
watching. These whales travel almost 3500 miles from their primary
feeding area off the coast of Alaska to the waters of Hawaii. The
migration itself takes anywhere from four to eight weeks and they spend
about four months in Hawaii. It is speculated that the whales use ocean
currents, change of temperature in the water and perhaps even the
Earth's magnetic field to guide their way down to Hawaii.

of these whales tend to end up in the waters off the coast of Maui.
Whale watching in Maui is known to be the best in Hawaii. You will see
whales almost 99.9% of the time. And you will see plenty of them! These
creatures are definitely a sight to behold! They are massive, majestic
and love to put on a show. They propel their huge bodies straight up
and out of the water and dive back in. They travel together in groups,
socializing and trying to find food in the nutrient-poor waters of
Hawaii. The experience of seeing these sea mammals for your self can
certainly be one of the highlights of your Hawaii trip. It is one thing
to see them on TV or documentaries but it is a completely unique
experience to see them just a few meters away from your boat.
We
offer various tours that take you out to witness the beauty of these
creatures in their natural habitat. Some of the tours are standard
whale watching tours, taking you out a few miles from the coast of Maui
to witness the humpback whales. These boats are up to date with the
latest technology to enhance the whale watching experience, including
monitors that connect to underwater cameras. Other tours combine whale
watching with kayaking or snorkeling. Both kayaking and snorkeling,
along with whale watching, are some of the most popular and fun
activities that visitors partake in during their Hawaii visits. The
whales only come for a few months every year, so if you are in Hawaii
during the winter season, try and find out if you will be able to get
out on one of our boats to go whale watching. It is an experience that
people of all ages will absolutely love!
