Watching a Maui sunrise is like no other experience. There's a certain peacefulness and unique beauty to the island during this quiet part of the day, when the golden sun sparkles over the water and introduces a brand new day in paradise. Imagine that you are not only there to witness this grand moment, but that you are standing sixty-five-hundred feet above sea level, watching the magic unfold from a peak of a large, dormant volcano. The air is cool and everything around you is still, allowing you to fully enjoy the beauty of this moment.
Come with us on a journey of a lifetime as you watch a dramatic sunrise at the top of Haleakala Ranch and then ride on a bicycle down the mild slopes of the Haeakala Volcano, the world's largest resting volcano. After a continental breakfast at our Kahului Headquarters, you'll travel in our safari van to the top of the Haleakala Ranch, where you'll witness a spectacular sunrise. You'll also be given a bicycle as well as a riding helmet, windbreaker, and gloves. After a safety demonstration, you'll be on your way down the winding highway that leads down the side of the Haleakala Volcano. The hills have a subtle decline, and there are plenty of S-curves to slow you down. Additionally, the highway is wide and has plenty of places for you to stop and enjoy the view or take pictures. Your safari leaders will be sure to point out all the unique mountain and Central Valley landscapes. You'll enjoy lunch at the Sunrise Market and Flower Farm, and then continue your bike tour through the country and the delightful town of Kula. Our van will take you through the town of Pukalani, and you'll learn all about the area's sugar and pineapple agriculture.
